About Us...

Who We Are

We are Forsyth County Voice, or FoCoVo — a grassroots movement of residents, farmers, and generational families who love this county but are deeply concerned about its trajectory. We believe in the power of local residents using their voice, facts, and shared values to shape the future of our community.

Why We Started

We started as a few neighbors coming together to stop a Special Events Space — “Opposition of Keith Bridge Venue” — from being built in our backyards. What began as one issue quickly exposed a larger problem. Throughout the process, we realized much of the community does not have clear or practical access to the zoning process. Critical information is difficult to find, timelines move quickly, and decisions are often made before neighbors fully understand what is at stake.

We saw a clear disconnect between the decisions being made and the reality faced by the neighbors who must live with those decisions.

Our Mission

Our purpose is to ensure that those who live, work, and raise families in Forsyth County are aware and gain influence on decisions, infrastructure, and land-use that define our community.

  • Advocate for Smart Growth: We push for development that aligns with the Forsyth County Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Code.
  • Protect Quality of Life: We show up to ensure the preservation of the character pastoral roots, scenic buffers, and neighborhood integrity that make Forsyth County an amazing place to live.
  • Promote Transparency: We create a centralized place for the community to stay informed about zoning requests, permits, and other county actions. The community has a voice, but awareness is the first step to being heard.
